Polkadot Updates
🔴 ⭕️ Relay Chain

OAK Network has won the latest parachain lease auction.
🔴 🏛 Governance
Referendum 74, proposing to open several HRMP channels, is passing by a wide margin.
After being approved by the Council as a motion, Referendum 77, proposing to fund Chainsafe for development of Gossamer (a Polkadot Host written in Go), is passing with 88% in favor.
Motion 270, proposing to initiate a Referendum on adding nomination pools to Polkadot, has been approved by the Council and will be up for community vote shortly.
Motion 271, to fund a common good collaboration between Bitgreen, Sequester, and Evercity that aims to estimate and report the collective carbon footprint of the entire Polkadot and Kusama networks, is currently up for a Council vote.
Motion 272, seeking to upgrade the Polkadot and Statemint runtimes (to 9291 and 9290 respectively), is under consideration by the Council.
There have been some updates to the Polkadot Staking dashboard recently, including support for nomination pools.
There is a post seeking feedback for a proposal to allow the Polkadot Collectives Common Good Parachain to connect to Polkadot.

Referendum 233, extending Picasso’s parachain time by swapping two lease slots, has passed.
Referendum 234, approving a Treasury Proposal for WagMedia, has passed.
Referendum 236, proposing to upgrade Statemine to runtime v9290, is currently passing with 99% in favor.
Motion 551, aiming to fund further development of Fearless Wallet, did not reach a majority approval.
A Treasury Proposal for OnFinality’s high-performance public infrastructure seeks community feedback.

KILT has become the first parachain to migrate from Kusama to Polkadot.

Talisman launched a dApp browser featuring the best projects on Polkadot, Kusama, and their parachains.
2 controversial grant proposals on Moonbeam by Moonwell and StellaSwap have now moved to the Referendum stage and are currently passing. If both pass, they will consume ~100% of the $GLMR available for the 3rd wave of grant funding. You can cast your vote here—Moonwell, StellaSwap.
🌎 Community & Ecosystem
Information on the coming rollout of Polkadot nomination pools, which will drastically improve staking limits, is now available. Nomination pools allow nominators to “pool” their nominations together, reducing the amount necessary to receive staking rewards drastically.

Moonbeam (2) and Polkadot (5) are in the top 5 of projects with the highest % of Web3 developer migration. For context—a dev migration counts when a developer on one open source repository begins making commits to a different open source repository.

After experiencing a few slowdowns in block production and finalization over the last week or so, the Westend testnet is working normally again.
