Polkadot Updates

Polkadot v0.9.21 has been released with HIGH upgrade priority.
Polkadex won the most recent parachain slot auction.
The Polkadot Staking Update for April is out. This edition introduces nomination pools, which will allow the staking system to scale. It is now available on Westend to try out.

Referendum 59, proposing to unbrick Phala’s parachain, has been passed and executed.
Referendum 61, reducing the HRMP deposit amount from 20,000 DOT to 10 DOT, has passed and executed.
Motion 196, to open up HRMP channels between Statemint and five different parachains, is currently under consideration by the Polkadot Council.
Motion 195, to fund a Treasury Proposal for various events for Polkadot India, is under consideration by the Polkadot Council.
There is a proposal on seeking feedback for educating people about Polkadot at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Angel Hack has a post seeking feedback for a North American Polkadot hackathon.
There is a post seeking feedback for a potential Treasury Proposal for rewards for participants in the earlier nominator survey.
There is a proposal seeking feedback to support Polkadot nodes at up to 50 different universities worldwide.

Referendum 193, granting sufficiency to RMRK tokens on Statemine, has passed. It will go into effect on 16 May.
Referendum 194, proposing to swap parachain lease slots for Moonriver and Khala, was passed.
Referendum 195, seeking to upgrade the Kusama relay chain to runtime v9200, was passed.
Referendum 196, seeking to open an HRMP channel between Parallel Heiko and Statemine, is passing by a wide margin.
Referendum 197, proposing to grant sufficiency to USDT on Statemine, is passing with 64% in favor and three days left to vote.
Referendum 198, a public proposal for a Kusama liquidity bridge for Stableswap, is currently passing (85% in favor, 0.08% turnout) with 6 days to vote.
Motion 475, proposing to approve a Treasury Proposal by 1KVNode for Kusama/Polkadot Network Snapshot Education and Resiliency, was passed.
Odyssey has released their first report on the Treasury-funded Kusamaverse, a real-time 3-D home for the Kusama ecosystem.
Virto opened a discussion to add Kreivo as a common-good parachain.
The Polkassembly team published a maintenance proposal to cover the costs of the platform for Q2 2022. This covers general maintenance, runtime upgrades changes and could/infrastructure costs.
Wallety.org published a follow-up maintenance proposal for Wallety.org: an analytical website to help members community to view data points on their wallets. Upon council request, the team will include a public API for users and a new UI design.
Jay published a bounty proposal for discussion to further fund the development of WagMedia and incentivize individual participants to discover, develop, and distribute network-related content.

Astar founder published The Next Chapter of Astar: It’s Time to Build. Astar also introduced compounding rewards feature for dApp staking.

Acala announced that on-chain derivatives protocol Satori will launch Polkadot-based perpetuals on Acala’s EVM+.
Acala launched DOT liquid staking on Polkadot. It also released a new ecosystem update.
Moonriver has been updated to runtime 1500. This update activates proposed staking changes, adds the ability for Collators to share slots, enables non-native transaction fee payments, and bundling for transactions on dApps.
Unique released a new ecosystem update.
Manta partnered with leading Web3 tech companies to launch a challenge to advance zero-knowledge technology.
Phala released a new ecosystem update.
Mangata announced a MGX-KSM liquidity bootstrapping event.
Crust integrates with the SubSquare governance platform.
Subsquid is hosting a development workshop.
Clover announced CLVscan.
Bifrost released a new ecosystem report.
SubWallet has been updated to v0.4.1. Now it is possible to import ERC20 and ERC721 for EVM Networks.
