Polkadot v0.9.42 was released with a HIGH upgrade priority level. The changes motivating this priority level are:
Nomination pools migration v5: rewardpool fix
Bump trie-db to 0.27.1 (fix storage iteration bug + change seek behavior with prefix).
Anonymous parathread ID 3336 won Auction 43.

Referendum 112, proposing to immediately increase the number of validators in the active set to 500, was rejected.
Referendum 114, proposing to onboard a Bridge Hub system parachain to Polkadot, is passing unanimously in favor and less than 6 days to vote.
Referendum 115, proposing to open three new HRMP channels between Statemint and Bitgreen/Subsocial/Manta, is passing unanimously with less than 11 days to vote.
Referendum 116, fixing the issue caused by Referendum 113 and resetting the Watr parachain genesis block, was passed.
Referendum 117, seeking a force_transfer back to the Treasury from a previous Treasury Proposal, is currently failing with 73% in favor.
Motion 392, funding milestones 5 & 6 of Kampela’s development (a hardware signer and key storage), was passed and executed.
Motion 394, completing the funding for Motion 383 (which funds the operating cost for the nonprofit organization Polkadot Ecology Research Institute), was passed and executed.
Motion 395, funding RockX for providing free RPC service for the community in 2023, was passed and executed.
Motion 396, funding the Q2 2023 development of smoldot, an alternative implementation of the Polkadot client focused on using as little CPU, memory, and bandwidth as possible, was passed and executed.
Motion 398, to increase the active set of Polkadot Validators to 400, was passed and will now become a Referendum for the community to vote on.
Motion 399, funding the 2nd of 3 tranches for Polkadot Decoded, is under Council consideration.
Motion 400, funding Integritee to develop privacy sidechains Statemine and Statemint, is under consideration.

Referendum 172, to remove the lock on Bifrost’s parachain ids 2259 & 2262, is passing with 91% in favor. (Note that this Referendum is still in the Prepare period–the phase before actual voting).
Referendum 173, proposing to fix the HostConfiguration by setting the max_code_size to 3 MiB, is passing with 99% and less than 2 days to vote.
Whitelisted Caller - for proposals approved by the Fellowship
Referendum 167, to upgrade Kusama’s XCM to v2, is currently passing unanimously with less than 6 days to vote.
Small Spender - for proposals requesting less than 333.33 KSM
Referendum 177, to fund the improvement of Kusama OpenGov through the use of auditors who audit proposals, is passing with 88% in favor and less than 5 days to vote.
Medium Spender - for proposals requesting less than 3,333.33 KSM
Referendum 166, retroactively funding Daniel Maricic for developing Polkadot Discovery Portal, was rejected.
Referendum 168, funding the further development of KusaMint (a development kit for NFTs), was rejected.
Referendum 169, funding Cryptozilla for the production of 40 educational videos in 4 months, was rejected.
Referendum 170, retroactively funding the maintenance of parasnaps.io, was passed.
Referendum 176, funding Dwellir for the development and maintenance of its RPC services for Q2 2023, is passing with 91% in favor and less than 4 days to vote.
Referendum 178, funding milestones 2 & 3 of Sol2Ink development (a tool that transpiles Solidity smart contracts to ink! smart contracts), is failing with 3% in favor and less than 9 days to vote.
Referendum 179, funding Sublab to develop tools for developers in the Substrate ecosystem, is failing with 13% in favor and less than 9 days to vote.
Big Spender - for proposals requesting less than 33,333.33 KSM
Referendum 180, funding a Polkadot hackathon in Mexico, is failing with 39% against and less than 11 days to vote.
Treasurer - for proposals requesting up to 333,333.33 KSM
Referendum 171, to close the Infrastructure Maintenance Bounty #13 following the community’s disapproval of a top-up request for said bounty, is passing with 99% in favor and less than 1 day to vote.
Referendum 175, to fund the monitoring of public RPC/WSS endpoints and node database analytics, is failing with 37% in favor and less than 3 days to vote.
