Polkadot Updates
🔴 ⭕️ Relay Chain
total supply - ~1.29b DOT | staking - 47.7% | parachains & crowdloans - 10%
Polkadot 0.9.38 has been released with MEDIUM upgrade priority.
Hashed won the most recent parachain lease auction.
Almost 2.2 million DOT are currently bonded in nomination pools, with 6’215 accounts staking via pool.
🔴 🏛 Governance
Referendum 101, approving a Wasm smart contracts bounty, is passing with 99% was passed.
Referendum 103, a public proposal to unbrick the Zeitgeist parachain, is failing with 61% in favor. Note that the Zeitgeist team has asked people to vote against this Referendum.
Referendum 104, a fast-tracked, Council-backed version of Referendum 103, was approved.
Referendum 105, proposing to update system parachains to runtime v9370, is passing almost unanimously with 5 days left to vote. This Referendum has been fast-tracked.
If you are unfamiliar with fast-tracking, it is a power granted to the Technical Committee to speed up Referenda voting and enactment. For details, see here.
Referendum 106, to open new batch of HRMP channels, is passing.
Referendum 107, to upgrade the Polkadot runtime to v9370, is passing.
Motion 351, to create tools for Substrate developers, did not pass.
Motion 352, to fund a 6-month maintenance of the Kusamarian, was approved.
Motion 353, to fund Milestone 1 of Easy A’s Polkadot Hackathons and Crash Course for 1,000 developers, was approved.
Motion 355, to fund Milestone 1 of YieldBay’s DotSama Yield Farming Dashboard, is under consideration by the Polkadot Council.
Motion 356, to top-up the anti-scam bounty, is under consideration.
Motion 357, to fund the development of Matrix, a simple interface for managing complex multisigs, is under consideration.
Motion 358, to fund India’s first Polkadot conference, is under consideration.

Referendum 97, to test the Treasurer's origin in its ability to cancel bounties and slash tips, was approved.
Referendum 100, to assign curators to the Spanish Content and Event bounty, is up for vote. Note that the Bounty was already approved in Gov1.
Referendum 101, scheduling the Kusama auction schedule for the rest of 2023, is currently up for vote.
Referendum 102, proposing to fund Polkadot Study, an educational site for developers, is up for vote.
Referendum 103, setting one last auction before the long-term auction schedule set by Ref 101, is up for vote.
Referendum 106, to upgrade the Kusama runtime to v9380, is up for vote.
Referendum 107, to fund Imbue to build a freelance marketplace UI, is up for vote.
Referendum 110, to cancel and resubmit Referendum 106, is under consideration.
4 proposals are in the Medium Spender track of the new OpenGov system.
2 proposals are in the Small Spender track of the new OpenGov system.
A reminder that while it is still technically possible to submit Referenda to Gov1 on Kusama, all new Referenda are recommended to go through Kusama OpenGov.

Encointer published the highlights of its first year as a common-good chain on Kusama that is focused on bringing Universal Basic Income to communities worldwide.
Equilibrium and Bifrost integrate to support bi-directional token transactions.
HydraDX published The Future is Hydrated, a proposal to the community to extend the team’s runway.
Integritee announced a partnership with OLI Systems, a German company providing innovative energy market solutions.
Mangata launched Proof-of-Liquidity, a novel mechanism wherein LP tokens are staked to secure the network.
Manta introduced getting started with MantaPay guide with tools and instructions to make your first ZK transaction in Web3.
OAK and Mangata launched a new parachain cross-chain functionality–XCM Liquidity Pool Auto-Compounding.
OriginTrail published the next development milestones within the scope of its multi-chain strategy.
Phala Builders Program is accepting applications from projects interested in deploying on Phat Contract’s compute service.
Unique announced Unity SDK - a simplified solution for bringing blockchain game ideas to life and incorporating blockchain into Unity-based game development.
